The 1934 FIFA World Cup was the second FIFA World Cup played from 27 May to 10 June 1934 in Rome, Italy. It is the first edition of the tournament held in Europe. This FIFA world championship was for Men’s National Association Football teams. In this tournament, 16 teams from 4 confederations participated in the final tournament.
36 countries applied to enter the World Cup tournament, but only 16 teams qualified for the FIFA World Cup. Ten teams made their first World Cup presentations.
Eight cities have been selected for the 16 participating teams in Italy. Rome, Milan, Florence, and Naples are the top venues of the tournaments. The tournament comes with a knockout format from the Round of 16 to the semifinal and the final.
The final match was played between Italy and Czechoslovakia, where Italy’s national soccer team won the match in extra time by -, securing their first World Cup title. The final match occurred on June 10, 1934, at the Stadio Nazionale PNF in Rome, Italy.
