FIFA finally approve video assistant referees

FIFA finally approve Video Assistant Referees (VAR) for 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. It will be using first time and first World Cup with VAR. In this summer world cup duty, FIAF to train 36 referees and plus assistants. Gianni Infantino and Fifa’s ruling council approve this technology after the discussion.

VAR will be using at the World Cup for the first time after Fifa formally approved. This technology also will be used in club matches and the technology for this year’s tournament.

It will give clear and obvious errors. This decision serious missed incidents” involving goals, penalty awards, red cards and mistaken identity.

It was first used in England in November 2017 when the Three Lions faced Germany in a friendly, and then made its competitive debut on January 8 as Brighton & Hove Albion take on Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.

In 18 months of trials worldwide, including at the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia, Bundesliga and Serie A.
