The FIFA Women’s World Cup will be jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand. It will be the 9th edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup and Australia & New Zealand will host the competitions. This will be the first Women’s World Cup to be hosted in multiple countries. FIFA has decided to expand the tournament to 32 teams. FIFA is the top Federation in the soccer world and released the official match schedule for the event.
FIFA Women’s World Cup was founded in 1991 and the US is the most successful national world cup team. Women’s World Cups 2011 and 2015 were hosted in Germany and Canada and the 2019 women’s world cup was hosted by France.
The tournament will host across 12 host cities in New Zealand (Auckland, Dunedin, Hamilton, Wellington), and Australia (Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, 2 in Sydney). The current format of the tournament is 32 competing teams.
