The annual football club competition the UEFA Europa League organised since 1971 by the Union of European Football Associations for eligible European Football teams and the league have completed 52 seasons. The 2024-25 UEFA Europa League will be the 53rd season organized by UEFA Football Association. Earlier UEFA Europa League was known as the UEFA Cup and the 2024-25 UEFA Europa League is the 15th season since it was renamed.
The 2024–25 UEFA Europa League final match will be played at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Republic of Ireland and the winning team will get a chance to play for the European Champions League and also be eligible to play against winners of the 2023-24 UEFA Champions League.
A total of 76 teams from 41 of the 55 UEFA member associations are scheduled to participate in the 2024–25 UEFA Europa League.
This is the 54th season of this club competition and the 16th since it was rebranded from UEFA Cup to UEFA Europa Leagu. This is the fourth season since 1999-2000 which follows the final edition of the UEFA Cup. The new format 36 teams are qualified for the 2024-25 UEFA Europa League.
UEFA is ready to abolish the away goals rule from this season, established in 1965. UEFA has announced this news on 24 June 2021 and there will be extra time. If two teams score the same number of goals, a penalty shoot-out will choose the winner.
