The 1954 FIFA World Cup was the Fifth of FIFA World Cup, the world championship for men national association football teams. This was held in Switzerland from 16 June to 4 July 1954. Switzerland is a mountainous Central European country. The World Cup was won by West Germany, who defeated Hungary 3–2 in the final. It was the first world cup of West Germany.
It ending the proud 31-match unbeaten record. The hosts country Switzerland and the defending champions Uruguay qualified automatically.
