Jon Flanagan, a Liverpool defender has been sentenced to 40 hours of unpaid work and a 12-month community order after assaulting his girlfriend on December 22.
The sentence also includes 15 rehabilitation activity days which was announced at an earlier hearing.

After assaulting his partner Rachael Wall while on a night out in the city on December 22, Flanagan appeared in
Liverpool magistrates court on Wednesday morning.
Liverpool has expressed their “disappointment and anger” in Jon Flanagan after 25-year-old defender was convicted of assaulting his girlfriend.
Liverpool also said that an internal investigation regarding Flanagan will be conducted to decide on further disciplinary action.
Flanagan’s first goal for the Reds came in a 5-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in 2013.
The Liverpool defender has made 51 senior appearances for the Merseyside club. The 25-year-old has suffered the injury in recent seasons.
His only appearance in this campaign was in the League Cup when they were defeated by Leicester City in September by one-sided 2-0.
The District Judge Wendy Lloyd gave a big shock to Liverpool by sentencing Flanagan at Liverpool Magistrates Court.
