Al Janoub Stadium: 2022 FIFA World Cup
Al Wakrah Stadium is also known as Al Janoub Stadium is a football stadium located in Al-Wakrah, Qatar that was inaugurated on 16 May 2019. This stadium will use for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and second among the eight stadiums.
The design of the stadium was done by Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid together with the firm AECOM. Basically, the roof design was inspired by the sails of traditional Dhow boats.
After following the 2022 FIFA World Cup, this stadium official seat of the football club Al-Wakrah SC, where all the matches for the Qatar Stars League will be held.
The capacity of Al Janoub Stadium will be the same as Al Rayyan Stadium is 40,000 seats. After the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the seats will be reduced to 20,000 seats.
Qatar was selected as host for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and Qatar does not have enough capacity for the sport and then they build new 8 stadiums for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
